Spring Break? More Like Spring Work!

I am officially on Spring Break, but I am bummed because I still have to go to field (two 9AM-5PM days), have five doctor appointments/treatments this week, and a paper to write due after break amongst other work. It really doesn't feel like I get much of a break at all. It is great that I don't have to drive the 45 minutes to and from school twice this week, though, but I am really looking forward to the end of the year. That is when I will get my break. It's almost here!!!!!!!!!!

Positives time! One positive about my full Spring Work is that I can get away with doing zero work this weekend (first time ever for me), soooo I have been reading fashion magazines, playing with my pup and my fiance, and catching up on all of your blogs the past day and a half without the thought of all the work I need to do looming over my head :-)

Thank you for all of your comments on my last post. It's great to know that I explained myself well because I have been looking for a way to explain to others who don't understand how I go on looking so "good" while being in so much pain. I could never find the right words to tell the right story, but after reading one word (ignore) in a lengthy article focusing on ketamine comas, I had my AH HA! moment. No wonder people don't understand... they don't have the capacity to unless they have lived and coped with chronic pain. We are robotic in our daily activities, just going through the motions because we must. The other choice in becoming bitter in our own messes and discontinuing our vibrant lives. People with chronic pain only have those two choices, and at times, it can feel like we are on a leash chained to our pain. This is where ignoring the pain comes in...

I want to take a moment to applaud all of you for doing the best you can in your given situations and enjoying life in the ways that are possible for each of you. Let us remember not to compare ourselves to others, even to others with RSD, because although we have the same disease, all of our pain tolerances and circumstances are different.

Keep on living and DREAM BIG!

YAY....Spring Break, if only for a weekend!! =)

Explaining all you go through to "look good" is something that can't be done to everyone, but it is something we all must continue to try so each and every person everywhere will realize there is much more to life than 'simply living', and we have that secret to share with them, don't we?? =)

I am so proud of you for taking the weekend for YOU!! It was long overdue!!

Keep Showing Your Beautiful Smile, Remain Focused, & Take Care of YOU!!

I know the feeling, but somehow I am finding it hard to get the motivation to work as much as I should be on the weekends and I'm not on springbreak! I'm glad you had a whole weekend of 'me' time its so important to get that in as much as you can. I hope your week 'off' feels like a lighter load at any rate. Take care you too and thank you for the encouragement, but I wonder if I dream too big sometimes lol.

your point about living in pain as if you're not (as a coping strategy) was perfect. thanks for this insight.

love this post...hope you enjoyed the lil break :)
We definitely can't go around comparing ourselves...sometimes cleaning a few dishes is the biggest achievement in MY day! But I'm still proud of it...it all catches up sometimes and the 'life envy' can pass through, but always pass through, never stick around ;)
