**Taken today with my happy pup!
Nourish: To provide substances necessary for life, to foster the development of, to keep alive.
I'm not talking about gargantuan salads consisting of the most vitamin and nutrient dense plant foods (although, those are perfect for nourishing the physical bod), but rather, what feeds the soul. Be it spending time with loved ones, watching the rain fall, reading a good soul-searching book, cooking, or any other activity that leaves you feeling energized and balanced, we need nourishment to keep us feeling vibrant and alive. And, it needs to be made a priority. This can be difficult in the go-go-go flow that our individualistic, goal-oriented society has, but what one deems important, one will achieve.
So, how do we do this?
1. Carve out time: Make certain activities a priority and DO NOT feel guilty about doing so.
2. Don't make excuses: Be honest with yourself. Often, we blame "time" for what we cannot do, but we make other aspects priority. Why can't sitting still and watching the rain fall be one, too? Making personal time may be the most productive thing you do all day.
3. Allow yourself to BE: Live in the moment, enjoy it, love it, be it. Don't judge yourself, what you are doing, other people... just BE, for once! Ignore that nagging voice in your head.
4. ENJOY!: Take it alllll in, and count it as adding healing time to your bank of healthy living. Just as money accumulates over time to create wealth, small steps toward healing count in big ways.
Happy Healing!!!!

Thank you for your comment on my blog.
what is a neurological disease ?
Adorable pic!! My pup definitely nourishes my soul!! :)
my dog definitely nourishes my soul. :) I don't get to see him often anymore because I go to university 5 1/2 hours away from my hometown, but every time I go home, I spend the entire time with him. :) I literally grew up with him and he's been by my side through everything. <3
Once again we seem to be working on the same 'issues' - which is a good thing!
It is hard to find that balance for many people but, when faced with a chronic condition, it becomes and IMPERATIVE. We MUST, as you note, ensure we make time. Often. Every day, even.
It's further complicated for me as a single mum; the time spent on caring for someone else is often the culprit in not ensuring caring for ourselves.
And, since those of us in the helping professions spend our days helping others... well, you can see how this goes!
Just wanted to say I'm working hard at learning how to make sure I make time for me, whether it's saying no to something I just can't manage, to getting that nap in when I need it... to getting out and doing something fun with a friend (it sometimes seems like too much effort to go see a movie anymore - and I adore movies!).
Thanks again for another timely and helpful post.
Much love,

Great post. Im definitely trying to find a good balance in school now, and this helped, thanks (:
Erika and Lauren, I know just what you mean!
Lisa, I'm so glad my post was timely for you. It is so much an art form, healing. It takes a lot of proactive moves to create health in our lives, especially when we already have chronic conditions.
I love this post! Sometimes it's so hard to get to the fun stuff when I need so much energy to get through the necessary stuff. I try to make as much time as I can though, thanks for the reminder to do it today!!
You're welcome, Caf! I know how you feel, but sometimes, I forgo even the necessary stuff to get some nourishment in.
