Teaching

Hi, healers! Right now, I am finishing up my lesson plan for tomorrow, my first day teaching college students sociology. I’m super excited! I’m one of those nerds that love academics. I’ve been in school most of my life (and now I’m back, just in the teacher’s role), so it’s safe to say I’m good at it. That’s why the Ph.D. seems like the natural next step, whenever that will be, God/Universe willing.

I will be teaching three sections of intercultural communications, and I have about 90 students in total. Creating the syllabus and course schedule was time consuming (and I’ve barely started the actual detailed lesson plans), so props to all of my past teachers!

I’ve been going a lot easier on myself lately in terms of PT and exercise. Now that I have gotten my strength and cardio up to a certain level, I am focusing back in on yoga and becoming more flexible again. It’s been incredibly slow going coming back from that back injury I had (slipped discs) back in May. My muscles seized up around the injury (lower back, butt, hips, and hamstrings), and it is taking a lot of time and effort to unravel them. With that said, I am doing an hour of yoga every other day and easy cardio and conventional stretching on the alternate days. Intuitively, this feels right for the time being.

That’s about all on my end. I’ll be back to update on how my first classes go.

Happy Healing!
